Why Daniher wasn’t fazed by goalkicking concerns

Joe Daniher doesn’t care for the external noise.
Just take his semi-final performance, which saw the Brisbane forward kick four goals to help his side to a five-point win over GWS, as proof.
And young gun teammate Will Ashcroft heaped praise on Daniher’s ability to focus on

Daniher collected 13 disposals and was involved in six other Lions’ scores on top of his four majors.
His top performance, which included kicking the winner on Saturday night, was a perfect response to fears about his goalkicking prowess.

“He (Daniher) doesn’t let the public vibe or opinions about him weigh over him,” Ashcroft said on Nine’s Sunday Footy Show.
“He’s so confident in his ability. We all back him in and we absolutely love him at the footy club. When he gets going, he’s hard to stop.
“It was absolutely awesome to watch what he was doing last night. Unbelievable to be honest, can’t really put it into words. So happy for him.”

Meanwhile, the Lions arrived back in Brisbane on Sunday morning, with dual Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale spotted sporting a moon boot.
It follows coach Chris Fagan revealing that Neale has been struggling with a foot complaint for a number of weeks.
The club is confident he’ll be ready for their preliminary final against Geelong on Saturday afternoon at the MCG.
